Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is important to us. We want you to know how we handle the information you send us via the internet and how we strive to keep your personal information confidential. Our Privacy Policy adapts to the internet's ever changing environment. We keep you informed by updating this Privacy Policy as our procedures change. Please review it occasionally to remain informed. This is the way we handle information:

Why we collect personal information

We collect and use your personal information to give you superior customer service, to provide you with convenient access to our products, services, and sales transactions. In addition, we use your personal information to keep you up to date on the latest product announcements, promotions, special offers, and other information we think you'd like to hear about. We may collect your billing and shipping information for processing an online purchase.

How we collect personal information

The Organic Tool Corporation is the sole owner of the information collected on Organictool.com. We collect information from our visitors at several different points on our Web site.

Visitor-Keyed Information

We retain information provided by our visitor, such as registration information, transaction information and contact information. Our system may allow the visitor to create an account where he or she may also have the ability to correct inaccuracies in contact information and unique identifiers. In such case, on request with verification, we will give the visitor a reminder with unique identifier information such as customer number or password.

We do not share our customers' information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a website that is saved on your hard disk by your computer's browser. It holds information a site may need to interact with you and personalize your experience. We use two kinds of cookies, session cookies and persistent cookies.

Session cookies exist only for as long as your browser remains open. Once you exit your browser, they go away. We use session cookies to maintain information we need to have in order for you to shop or browse for purchase transactions at our site. For example, the Session ID cookie that we ask your browser to hold retains the ID for your shopping cart feature. Without the Session ID cookie, you cannot add merchandise to your bag or make any purchases.

Persistent cookies, in contrast, last from visit to visit; they do not go away when you exit your browser. You can browse our site without accepting a persistent cookie. However, you cannot add merchandise to your cart or make any purchases. You may set your browser options to reject persistent cookies. Alternatively, you can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, which provides you with the opportunity to decide whether you want to accept it or not. In many instances, the "help" button on your browser tool bar will tell you how you can take these steps.

In some of our email to you, we use a "click-through URL." When you click one of these URLs, you pass through our web server before arriving at the website that is your destination. We track click-through to help us determine your interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications.

Email Addresses

When a visitor gives us email address, or sends us email correspondence, we retain such email address. We do not share our email lists with third parties for marketing purposes. We use email addresses to communicate with you regarding your orders and other matters regarding transactions between us or your customer relationship with us. We may also use your email address to share information about our products and services that may be of interest to you. You may opt-out of receiving such promotional messages from us at any time. If we do send you a promotional email, you will be given the opportunity to decline receiving similar emails in the future.

Security

Where applicable, we use industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving customer’s sensitive data exchanged with our site server. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just 'surfing'.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our users' information is protected. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment.

When we disclose personal information

If required by law, court order or in the good faith belief that disclosure is otherwise advisable, we may disclose your information.

We also work with other companies that help us provide products and services to you, and we may provide your personal information to these companies. For example, we give shipping companies this information so they can deliver your refills or replacement products efficiently. The information they receive is for shipping and delivery purposes only, and we require that the companies safeguard your personal information in accordance with our policies.
